Lynne,

Wow! I'm so glad this post is useful for you and your whole school!

Alecia,

Things are going really well - I have a few posts in the "The Parent Connection" category that describe our steps forward. Recently, we had a great session on cyberbullying that I also need to post about here. Thanks for the reminder!

Sherryl,

Yes, I remember you! We worked on a few PYP projects for grade 5 while you were there. It's so nice to hear from you! Hope all is well with you! Looking forward to connecting on something interesting in the future!

Dear Kim,

I think we were briefly at MIS at the same time. I was the PYP Coordinator during my last year. I am very impressed with what you are doing and where you are going. You could certainly teach me a thing or two. I have recently been teaching myself how to make movies and my goal is to use technology to reach schools across the world who would like to look at other ways of teaching and learning. You can see my work from last year at www.inquiryschools.net.

Let's keep in touch Kim!

Cheers,

Sherryl Joseph

Hey Kim. I'm wondering how your parent "talks" are going now? Are you making headway with them? I've been thinking of offering the same type of trainings for our parents here.

Great post Kim.
I emailed it my deputy principal and she now wants all staff to read it. It's about showing our staff where the everyone else is going with web 2.0, collaboration etc.

Kristian,

Absolutely! Skype me and we can chat!

Diane,

You're right, I didn't mention Admin - what I should have said is how absolutely fantastic my Admin team is, so fantastic that I really feel like they are my partners in this task, no need for convincing, just for keeping them informed and up to date on new developments. Not only did they decide to create my position and hire me, but they are the most supportive team I have ever encountered. We just spent the weekend together at the Learning 2.0 Conference and I can't wait to see the kinds of radical shifts we are able to embrace at ISB because of their support and vision for the future.

Alex,

Wow! Thank you! I'm glad you think so - I'm so overwhelmed with life at a new (huge) school that sometimes I forget to stop and think about just how cool this position is!

You didn't mention Administrators, but, judging from the programs you have in place already, they are definitely on board (not a universal situation, unfortunately).

I don't know how schools are funded there, but in our country, the community, represented by the Board of Education, is also an important piece of the puzzle.

Hi Kim, I left you a Classroom 2.0 message, but thought a quick note here would be prudent. Woudl love to talk about your current role, as I hope to apply for something along those lines here in England, just not as jazzy!
Thanks Kristian Still
