Kim,
Thank you so much for your summary of the sessions you attended at the Learning 2.0 conference. I listened to the opening session and was so pumped by the energy and discourse.
This new rendition of the web does make so many things possible. Without web 2.0, I would never have access to what happened in Shanghai and your reflections on the conference. The information that was shared would just go out into dead space, only to be discussed, analyzed, critiqued and reflected upon by the participants. Hearing the sessions, watching segments of the sessions in ning and now reading reflections like yours extend the impact in powerful ways.
How can we as educators keep this information to ourselves? How can we be content watching complacent teaching continue in our children's classrooms?
We are being changed. I hear the level of excitement and passion that reaches across our global connections. Success will be when our students feel as passionate about their learning as we do about our own.
Let's end drudgery in the classroom!

hi kim -

have been lurking on your blog since i first cracked open rss feeds this summer. the post that got you into my rss feed here was about the myp design cycle...last year i taught MYP tech, just for one year only, this year back to history & english.

anyways - i was also up in shanghai @ learning2.0, mostly just taking it all in, major infowhelm. don't think i recognized you...most of my time was spent with face in laptop!

wanted to say: thought that this post of yours does an AMAZING job of summing up / starting to sum up some of the great ideas that happened there. you're right w/r/t the tip of the iceberg. i don't even think i went to any of the presentations you went to...there was just too much good stuff there, huh?

well. mebbe we'll have more ideas to share...lots is happening now w' schools and the www!

cheers,

Kim
I am sitting at my desk at Qatar Academy about to put together the agenda for our first full on 'Let's plan the next five years in eLearning' at QA tomorrow when I stumbled upon your post. How wonderful for you to be in Shanghai and feel the buzz that NECC blogeers and attendees felt. It is truly a comforting experience to be with like-minded educators.

Thanks for sharing your sessions and your views. The hard part now is to sift through and prioritise and keep going knowing that there is light at the end of the tunnel. I agree with you with you on so many points and am inspired now to follow your links to look at some sessions I missed over the weekend.
