@Paul,

Agreed - Adrian would be fantastic. He's so real, so friendly and so knowledgeable. I think for you to become an ADE you have to be working at a school. In that sense, it's not exclusive - it's just specifically for teachers, not consultants. Maybe when you work in a school again you can apply. It seems fair to me that they make an educator award limited to people who are actually teaching in a school. Maybe a reason to go back to full time teaching at least for a while?

@Neil,

Thanks! Glad you're enjoying the posts!

@John,

Apple's is definitely a model to follow - I was very impressed, as you can tell :)

Interesting report. I'm not in the education business but we also conduct roadshows. It was very interesting and inspiring to see someone else set a high standard for this kind of activity.

Thanks for this Kim. It sounds like Adrian Lim might be someone that I need to try to get to Hong Kong for the conference in October. I agree with what you say about Apple as a vendor supportive of schools who pledge allegiance to the Apple cause. The only sad thing is that the ADE is an exclusive club. I am sitting here typing this on my Macbook knowing that I can not be a member of this club as I am not in a Mac school or a school that may go Mac one day. I met late last year with a guy who didn't even own a Mac but was sent to the ADE course last year as Apple wanted to target his school. (He did purchase a Mac before going but his school has not yet!)
Having said that, I am all for any sponsor who spends money on things that have positive outcomes for teachers and schools and I see a lot of this from the Apple camp.
